Q: Can I pay a bigger deposit and/or take out a longer lay-buy term to bring down my weekly payments?
A: Yes, we recommend a 20 week term based on the fact this means your conversion from lay-buy to finance may happen as quickly as after only 8 weeks - should you choose a 40 week lay-buy term this simply means conversion if offered would likely not occur until at least week 16. (Our minimum deposit of $100 is a minimum, you may choose any deposit amount of your liking, obviously only the balance will be divided by your selected lay-buy term).
Example of Certegy Lay-buy Express for a $1600 purchase:
Total purchase price: $1600
Total deposit paid at time of order: $100
Total balance owing: $1500, paid over 20 weeks = $75 per week
$75 paid each week for 8 weeks = $600, balance left owing $900
If conversion is offered and accepted this $900 can be paid off at the above rate or over the next 12 months at the rate of $17.31 per week with no interest.
